Laurice’s Bio
I am the co-founder of Improv 4 Kids http://www.improv4kids.com and Eight is NEVER Enough http://www.eightimprov.biz Comedy troupes based out of New York City.
I live in New York City with my husband Walt Frasier (not the basketball player). This Walt Frasier http://www.waltfrasier.com We met doing an operetta in college when I was 18. In 1997 we moved to NYC to pursue our shared passion for performing arts. I was raised in Gaithersburg MD by my parents. My mother, who passed away from cancer in ‘88, was a History Teacher from upstate NY. My father, who passed away from lung cancer in ‘08, was an Armenian PHD Civil Engineer from Syria (until he quit engineering to run his own hummus factory!) I found that comedy, sillyness and laughing were the things that helped me through tougher times. I also found it was what I enjoyed the most about performing. I try find humor through my experiences in life. In any situation humor never seems to fail. So I started these companies to focus on funny things by making myself and hopefully other people laugh. We try to make people laugh on an hourly basis. When not performing I can be found watching tv, movies, going out to eat and laughing. Other than that most of my time is either on stage or organizing stuff behind the scenes. Before starting the comedy groups, I did a lot of work in theatre both on stage and off. I took a break for a while and tried to do the “normal job” thing but it just didn’t make me happy. I am an artist and I’ve chosen to follow my dreams.
Check out our Youtube Channels. We make silly sketch comedy videos in our spare time. Some of them are funny. Some of them are interesting… and some of them are disturbing.
